Description
When we first looked into hand knotted carpets, all our research was taking us to Persia. But we dug deeper, and we learned how carpet knotting became a part of our own heritage.
600 years ago during the Mamluk rule of Egypt, Persian weavers were recruited to produce carpets in a style foreign to them. Strictly symmetric and geometric designs birthed a Mamluk style unique to any other. Carpets set sail to furnish the grandest palaces including the Vatican and Al Hambra.
This cultural exchange inspired the design our collection, borrowing the precision, expertise of past carpet makers and then disassembling and rearranging elements to create a new style, reflecting our rich past and mixed present.
We’re proud to introduce our debut line of carpets, The Renaissance Collection.
