Description
Long decades of life, piecing together traditions and languages from different lands. Experiencing laughter and tragedy from yellowed walls and squeaky wooden floors. The sound of her bangles clanking from the kitchen.
After these long years have come to an end, it is only the bangles that remain forever. The symbols of her life and what she stood for and witnessed all held in a red velvet box; its contents dispersed amongst descendants to be broken and diluted. Yet the symbols remain.
This collection honors the immortality of personal belongings and what they come to symbolize after a lifetime of use. These symbols are broken, dispersed, and rearranged in this collection of high pile hand knotted carpets to become the main visual element of each piece.
